SPWikiProvisioning was born with the idea of being useful when working on SharePoint 2010 projects involving wiki pages deployment. Using the features contained in the solution you will be able to create and update wiki pages automatically and this is extremelly useful when it comes to application lifecycle management.

The documentation area contains detailed information on how this solution works and you can find the binaries in the downloads area.

How can I leverage this solution?

If you work with SharePoint 2010 and wiki pages you may have ben asked some of these questions:

  • How can I change the layout of one or more pages?
  • How can I automate the deployment of a site or a site collection?
  • How can I update the contents of an existing site in an automated way?
  • Why in hell I cannot act with wiki pages the same way I do with publishing pages in terms of deployment?

If you have ever been asked any of these questions, SPWikiProvisioning will help you answer them.

What's next?

There is still a lot of work to be done around this project. I have a lot of ideas but, unfortunatelly, not so much time. However, I will try to find time to make SPWikiProvisioning evolve as much as possible. I would appreciate your feedback and your suggestions, so do not hesitate to add as many suggestions as you may consider to report bugs or new functionalities to be implemented. You can use this area for this purpose.
